Title: A600 memory expansion ?
Post by: Chartus on December 13, 2008, 05:25:29 AM
I am trying to expand my 600 to 2 meg chip ram by soldering 2 chips to the memory chips on the motherboard.  The chips are  NEC 424280-80 ,  are these memory chips compatible.  They came from an S3 trio 2meg PCI card.

Thanks for the link.  I haven't seen that one yet.  This one is a lot more informative than the one I was using before.  Thanks rkauer.

Hmmm...maybe my chips are not the right ones... none of the numbers sound anything like they should.

EDIT:  I got a rev 2B board and the layout is changed from the ones in the picture.  I probably soldered the wires to the wrong place.  Now to figure out the right places to put the wires  :-?
