Title: WHDLoad and 68040 - WB 3.1 - A1200'040 ROM 3.0
Post by: hbarcellos on December 10, 2008, 11:47:42 PM
Hello all,

I'm testing my A1200 using CF-IDE HD and I'm having a lot of issues when trying to run some whdload games. Most of them quit with some memory errors. Any ideas?

Hi,

Ever listen that Whload works perfectly with 030 and 060 and that have lot of issues with 040. I thought (my opinion) that is because who made the patches have Blizzards with 030 or 060.

P.S.: "bom ver mais uma pessoa do BRazil aqui"

Thanks jrJunior... I was just testing my recently acquired CF Card for my A1200. Worked perfectly. Too bad the 1080 monitor I bought from another guy shows a "little bit" blurry image, even when connected through rgb.
anyway, I saw something about tooltypes on whdload. Maybe it can solve the problem... Do you know anything about them?

*PS* Sim!

Take/comment out the "preload" option from each game, then try a new tooltype "noglobalautovector".

@Heitor, John & José: se isto aqui virar uma página em português eu me retiro!* :inquisitive:

*If this become a portuguese page I demise myself! :inquisitive:

I just wrote one sentence in PT-BR!!!
And to be 100% honest, writing in Portuguese makes this list looks like MSXBR-L: The Infamous!

Rkauer: Think you're still in my google talk... Anyway, how can I uncomment the preload option for each game? Where's that option written?

And, how can I inform whdload about tooltypes that I want to test/use?

regards,

Select (left-click) and them right-click and from the menu choose "Icon > Information (or use keyboard shortcut: + ).

The tooltypes are always in the game's icon.

To comment out a tool type, just put a ; before it.

To make a new tool type, click on the "new" button.

Mate pull the monitor apart out the back behind the gun is 2 trim pots. one is brightness the other is sharpness.

Turn the sharpness trim around until it's clear..

rkauer and countzero thanks for the WHDLoad information.

Related to the 1080. The problem is that when I turn-on the monitor it have a very blurred image. As time goes by, the image got sharper. Not extremely sharp but sharper.

Doing that risky  procedure would help on this case?

Not that I can't do it... :D, but I never opened a monitor before...

I thought you put brackets ( ) around it.

Pretty much on any game that I try.
BTW, most of them run fine on WinUAE on the same hardfile that was later transported to my Compact Flash.

Steel Pulse, Supercars, Alien Breed, etc...

Populous worked just fine.
Tetris too

Those are the ones that I remember.

Tried all that with Supercars:

Result:
Exception "Access Fault" ($7008)
PC = $7daf0
Long Read from $7fffe

:(

128Kbytes - 0x1FE00

Can I re-set that or I'll need to format again?

did you set this using hdinsttools or hdtoolbox ?

just try this. download nexus7 from aminet

http://aminet.net/package/demo/tp94/nexus7

play it on winuae. copy to your CF. see if it works on your amiga (if max transfer is wrong, it will get corrupted.)

well... I believe that 128 was too much for my IDE... :(

So, I'm re-formating my compact flash with SFS and using 64 for max file transfer.

remember to enter 0x0001FE00. hdinsttools pads zeroes to the right making the value 0x1FE00000 if you just enter 0x1FE00.

Are you serious??? What a strange behavior... Quite unusual.

So, probably I included a blazing xtremely fast speeds on my MAX transfer! :D

Don't actually remember which tool I have used...

BTW, is there a way to test the MAX TRANSFER SPEED maximum value before writing the partition information and formating? That's because if I miss, I would need to erase and write everything again, over and over, just to try to find the best value??
