Title: CDROM issue
Post by: sniken on December 07, 2008, 08:34:17 PM
I have a SCSI CDROM player that has begun to give me problems. If I after ejecting the fist CD try to insert another it is not recognized and i need to reboot for it to see the new CD. I use CacheCDFS.

Time to bin the drive?

I'd say check your software.  I had that problem with OS3.1 using it's CD ROM drivers which then went away after I installed OS3.9.

Does it help if you do a "diskchange cd0:"? (or whatever device name you use for your CD-ROM) If so then as Darrin says it's probably a software problem. If not, then maybe there is a problem with your drive not signalling the disk change.

The "diskchange cd0:" command did not help. I also tried with an older 68040.library and CDFileSystem, same thing happened. With a newer 68040.library it didn't load the CD at all. To use the CacheCDFS i need the new version of the library.
As it hasn't always been like this I will try find another drive.
