Title: How to access/read palce16v8h-25 20pin dip chip contents?

subject says it all - any ideas / suggestions?  I need to back it up / save it. :-?

Many universal programmers such as the Labtool-48UXP (http://www.aec.com.tw/LT-48UXP.htm) can read/program most of these kinds of parts. Though most programmable logic contains optional security bits, which can be set when the devices are programmed, meaning it is not possible to read out the device contents.  This security option is often set on production devices to stop the design being copied.

You could ask the manufacturer/designer to send you the Jedec file for them, whether they'll be prepared to give it to you is another question.
