Did it hit the market or was it never released?

Jens didn't start to sell it, yet.
Neither answer the "I really love to reserve one of those, sir" kind of e-mails.

Officially it was delayed. See here (http://www.jschoenfeld.com/news/news116_e.htm).
I have serious doubts that this thing will ever hit the market.
I really hope it does though.

This must be the 7th thread already about this subject :-((sighs).
The hardware is ready (and if I recall correctly quite a number of units has been produced already), but the software that drives the card has not been finished yet.

The only reason this product was never released must have been it would have required too much of Jens' Time to put into production.
Either there was a design fault with the original card that needed to be fixed, the production was particularly difficult, the accompanying software was never finished or something... (Perhaps he held off sale because he felt it might steal sales from Clone-A?)
I reserved mine right at the start of the project back in 2002 and was told by Jens that he had pre-orders for the first 200 and more.
Profit and demand were not deciding factors I believe.

Sounds strange that software is the problem, as the only software involved is the kickflash software. There's no special software involved for RAM and CPU.

Yes, the card is an (fixed)update from the original Apollo 630, without the FPU socket. All logic and array chips are moved inside a couple of PGA/PLD.
Simple and elegant.

I would actually miss the FPU, it really helps alot on lowend systems. Also, it's more or less a must for anyone who want to run alternative OS (netbsd, openbsd, linux). Yes there is FPU emulation, but that only slows things down even more. At least the socket could be there for anyone who needs it.
