I use Print Studio and my HP just died. I have to buy a new printer this weekend
What are my choices without a USB
-
My last Epson was a LQ500 (24Pin) . . . . . I have a Citizen GSX24 (24Pin) and a HP DeskJet 840C connected to my A2000, and a Canon BjC-1000SP unconnected at this time.
You have THREE choises:
° Choose a Parallel Port printer
° Fit a USB Card to your A3000
or
° Network your A3000 to use a system (with USB) that is connected to a USB-ported printer!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
There is one other, but that is a Second-hand printer option!

Got an Epson Photo790 here, has both USB and parallel.
You will want TurboPrint with that ;-)

Found a great Epson at Staples.$89.00 Can.
Its the Epson C82. Has both USB and Parellel port.
Tried it with Studio, but there were a lot of choices and none close.
It won't print yet.
Is any one familiar with it?
Off to Aminet to see what I can find.
Thanks,
-
No luck on Aminet. Lots of choice, but nothing close.
Stylus Colour Utility just froze.
C82 does not even seem close to the choices.
Is there a faster choice than finding TurboPrint and waiting for delivery?
Thanks,
-

Have you tried any of the Epson drivers on Aminet?
The filename can be misleading as the installer allows you to select which model to go for e.g Epson_600.lha

You should not use new printers on an Amiga 3000 professional computer. The best printer for the Amiga 3000 professional computer is the Commodore MPS-801 dot matrix printer. If you want to use a modern printer you should use a Pentium 4. The Pentium 4 is modern and prints much better than the Amiga. I have used every printer ever made in the whole world.
:-P

xeron that wasn't very doommaster like! Don't you know that it's the A2000 that is the professional computer! And Pentium IV PC's do print better than amiga's, so don't bother with printing on the amiga if you want to be a professional!! :-D
-
@iamaboringperson
Well, he doesn't call the 3000 and 4000 toys, and the guy already has the 3000, so I figured it was in tune with DoomMasters bizarre rants ;-)
I suppose a better thread for my piss take would have been the A2000/cable modem one. Just swap 3000 for 2000, printer for modem, and "Commodore MPS-801" for "Commodore 2400 baud modem" ;-)
-
No, the A2000 is the flagship model, anything else should be avoided at all cost!!! :-D
-
@Xeron:
That was a good one :-)
-
lol
btw: I use an Epson Stylus 600 on the miggy

The only thing I can suggest is try them until one works. The Epson C82 is listed as being supported by TurboPrint though so it may well be a good investment for you.

Thanks,
I will try the Epson600.lha and order the TurboPrint.
Pretty hefty price $75 Can. and chuck Print Studio.
Daughter needs it for essays this weekend. Nothing on TV I guess a little extra drama will be entertaining.
As for Definer of the Faith. Pentium Bore is not an option.
I also had great results with HP 670 with the A3000.
Thanks again,
