Title: Board Revision ADVICE Rev 1D.1 vs Rev 2B
Post by: Daniele on December 02, 2008, 10:04:26 PM
Hello,

I have two desktop A1200 and an A1200 and making some cleaning decided to sell 1 of these A1200 Desktop. Problem is I don't know if it is more worth to loose a Board Rev 1D.1 or a mobo Rev 2B.

so I am asking to you:

1) Is better Rev. 2B or Rev 1D.1
2) I had a short on another Rev 1D.4 did I loose a good revision?
3) In other word what is the best board revison? On a forum I have read 1A but since ii is the Initial Release I think is very difficult to find!

Cheers!

Hi,
In your position I would keep the 1d1 and sell the 2B.  I've got both and I find the 2B very troublesome.  Firstly mine has a timeing fault so you can't use a lot of accelerator cards with it and secondly it has double the number of clockport pins which makes it a bit dodgy to expand in that area as well.

Cheers,
Rudi.

Ps. The A1200 in my sig is the 2B I only use that one because it's the only Amiga I've owned since new  :-)  The 1d1 stays in reserve.

I'd really want to know what are the motherboard revision by Escom/Amiga Technology:

Rev 0 (Engineering Prototype)
Rev 1 (Advanced engineering prototype)
Rev 1A (Initial Release)
Rev 1B
Rev 1D.1
Rev 1D.3 (Budgie Rev -01 Release, E123C and E125C have been removed from motherboard)
Rev 1D.4 (Budgie Rev -02 Release, additionally XR358 470Ohm resistor removed, 470Ohm resistor added to pin 43 of Alice)
Rev 2B (Both budgie Rev -01 and Rev-02 were used. Resistor 118 was changed from 470Ohm to 220Ohm)

I think they were mostly 1d4's but I may be wrong.
