Title: Clicktofront option in MCP - I can't find it...
Post by: mingle on December 02, 2008, 04:55:04 AM
Hi,

I'm sure there used to be a click-to-front option in MCP, but I can't find it anywhere...!

I'm currently using MCP v1.30 (the latest one on Aminet)...

Does anyone know if I'm dreaming?!?

Cheers,

Mike.

Have a look in the Hotkeys tab, I think it's at the top of that list.

I think it's in the sun-options feature under the global tab in MCP prefs.

HI,

Thanks for the replies...

Ross was right this time!

But thanks got to Lloyd for pointing out the latest version of MCP - something Google failed to do!

Cheers,

Mike.

Thanks for the link Lloyd, I was unable to find the latest version myself.

No problem.

Indeed I was wrong about the click-to-front option.

Sun-options does have a window-to-front option, but it doesn't need a mouseclick.
If you move the mousepointer over any window, it brings the window to the front automatically.
When you have enabled this option, drag n drop doesn't work anymore.

In MCPPrefs switch to Hotkeys tab, select Active Window under MousePointer, press the Definition button, adjust the Mouse entry to eg. DoubleClick, press the upper Sample button and click once with your left mouse button. This way you tell the program to use the left mouse button for this operation.

Do the same with Active Window to Front entry in Hotkeys tab.

Now save the settings and reboot. From now on you should be able to bring windows to front with a left mouse doubleclick.

This way it can be assigned even to a single click of middle mouse button or whatever.
