Any one know if it's possible to shoe horn a Progressive Peripherals EXP 1000, 1 Mb RAM expansion card into an A1000?
I don't have the card yet, I am just trying to see options I have.
btw - the EXP 1000 is supposed to go into an A500 - plugs into the CPU socket.

From a hardware perspective, I don't see why it wouldn't work, however it all depends on the size and orientation of the board. It's quite cramped inside an A1000.

BBoAH says it might be for the trapdoor slot, hopefully that's not true.

http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/search.pl?product=+EXP+&company=Progressive+Peripherals
says 68000 socket, but it's big.

I still haven't received it, but it goes in the CPU socket. From the photo I have seen, it is rather large though.
I was hoping an older member may had tried this before...

Don't know what you mean by "older"? However, I had no luck with an M-tec 68020i (http://bboah.amiga-resistance.info/cgi-bin/showhardware_en.cgi?HARDID=80) going into an A1000 without the use of some sort of adapter board. I know there is a member here who has done it, perhaps their adaptor board will do the trick?

Didn't mean to offend anyone. I meant users who have been using Amigas since the beginning, 1985 or so - That's all.
I have the board now, and it is so large, I doubt it will fit in the A1000. If I do manage to shoe horn it in and get it working, I'll post progress here.
