Title: Hi from Maryland
Post by: carnid on November 24, 2008, 05:59:40 PM
Hi, I came across this site a while back and just now am getting around to signing up.  I used to be a big Amiga user back in the day when I lived in Ireland.  I still have an old Amiga 1000, 1200, 500 and CDTV in my parents roofspace across the pond.  Anyway, I was feeling a bit nostalgic last week so I splurged and bought an old Amiga 4000 off ebay.  I always dreamed of owning one of these back in the day so (although 15 years later) I will finally own an A4000 040 (once it arrives in the mail).

Now I just have to figure out how I can get all my disk images from Amiga forever to my new / old 4000 - but that's a challenge for another day.  I just wanted to stop by here and introduce myself, it is nice to see the Amiga name floating around still after all these years and still quite a following!

Where in Maryland? I'm in Annapolis, there are more than a few Amiga users left here, and the Wahington D.C. burbs are full. There's still a going user group in the D.C. area: NCAUG. I believe they still meet every month!

Thanks everyone for the welcomes :)

mgerics -> I don't speak a word of Irish either, I am originally from Belfast and my school never taught Irish language ;)

motrucker -> I am living in Hyattsville, you're about a half hour away from me I think!  I am surprised to hear about Amiga user groups in the area - and there was me thinking I am the only one living in this area who has ever heard of an Amiga haha!
