Title: Can I use FFs and SFS together?
Post by: jrfjunior on November 22, 2008, 06:40:05 PM
Hi,

I am using OS 3.9 in my A1200. I ever used a 3.2Gb HD. Now I am using a 80Gb IDE with my AMiga. I have 3 partitions using less than 4Gb of hard disk space and all with FFS file System. Can I use the rest (76GB) with SFS? How if the HDToolbox recognizes the 80Gb hard disk but only allow to partition more 4Gb (until the 8Gb limit)?

Thanks.

Yes, you can use both FFS and SFS.  If HDToolbox only recognizes 8GB of the drive either your device driver doesn't support larger drives, or the drive geometry is being read incorrectly by HDToolbox.

Each partition can have a different file system. So yes, you can use the rest with whichever file system you want.
