The IDE500 will only conflict with A500 accelerators, not memory expansions.

1) yes
2) no, only kickstart 2.x ROMs
3) yes, latest version have CF slot directly onboard

Anyone know where they can be ordered from? And for how much?

Probably this (http://www.iki.fi/mkl/ide/ide68k.html) is in question.
I had a for-sale posting in the marketplace forum area. (price 50 euros)
But I have now more pieces left for sale. (no PCBs, I could order more, if there is interest.)

I think I got an email from the original poster,
I can reply here, that the ram board uses the autoconfig(tm) configuration method, it most likely won't conflict.

They're home-made. (blank PCB:s from factory.)

If this interface will NOT work with any real accelerators, what good is it?!

If the board supported M-Tec 520i accelerators or included 8MB of fast ram I would probably buy one

If you read his page, he doesnt state that its incompatable with all accelerators. Just accelerators that use the adress space that is normally allotted to the A600 IDE interface..

Heres another concern though.. All the A500 accelerators Ive ever seen that go inside the machine BARELY fit.. By the time you stick the IDE board in, and plug the accellerator on top of it, your not gonna get the upper case half to go back on... If your A500 is towerized, then this is probably not an issue..

What would be interesting is whether or not it works with GVP sidecar mounted accelerators (eg. the A530)...  The A530 already has a hardisk controller, but it is an autoconfig device on the zorro bus, and shouldnt conflict with the A600 style IDE interface adress range. Many A530 owners who currently use SCSI hardisks may be interested in the IDE interface to use with CF cards to swap data with their PC..

Good point, but have you seen what AdIde interfaces are going for on this side of the pond?

Just spoiled I guess. I am learning to calm down with a great A1000 however. Remember using a hard drive with 1.3??

Add 8Mbyte's of Fast RAM to the next version and bump up the price a bit and I'd have one.
