Hi oh great ones have need for your mighty powers
Have an
A-590 2meg ram on board
have never beenable to get any Hard drive to work on it
However I could still access the ram untill recently
now that has stopped and all I get is a yellow screen
any advice on where to start
i.e what bits to replace first
would be a graet help
or any info in fact
would be greatfully humbly accepted

Never had any experience with an A590, but from memory, it's just a A2091 in a box. I picked up an A2000 with an A2091 that was exhibiting the same problems (green screen). I removed all the socketed chips, gave the board a good clean and reseated all the chips, worked like a charm. As for the HDD problem, what kind of HDD are you trying to connect?

I highly recommend coveruing it with lots of WD-40... ;-)

I know you're joking, but how would you feel if the OP actually did this and killed his board completely?

I recommend to clean the A500 expansion port. Those pins tend to get dirty very quickly ...
