Hi.
I want to convert movies from different formats into VCD-compliant MPGs using either FFMpeg or Mencoder, in order to pass them to VCDGear and create VideoCD disks that will play on a home DVD player.
No matter what arguments i have used, the converted movies always have some A/V sync problems, etc.
Could anyone who has done this successfully paste the exact command-line that he is using?
Thanks in advance.

I use SUPER and Pinnacle Studio 8 myself. But I found THIS (http://ffmpeg.mplayerhq.hu/ffmpeg-doc.html#SEC1) and THAT (http://www.mplayerhq.hu/DOCS/HTML/en/mencoder.html)
ffmpeg -f oss -i /dev/dsp -f video4linux2 -i /dev/video0 /tmp/out.mpg
:-)

ffmpeg -f oss -i /dev/dsp -f video4linux2 -i /dev/video0 /tmp/out.mpg
This will certainly not produce a VCD compliant MPG.
As for the Mencoder's manual, (second link) i have tried the suggested arguments for creating VCDs without much success.

Check my tutorial here (http://amigaworld.net/modules/features/index.php?op=r&cat_id=4&rev_id=158&sort_by). I have successfully made several VideoCDs on my AmigaOne using it. I hope to expand it someday with instructions on how to join more video files in a single VCD, and to create another guide about DVD Video creation.

:-D Don't even mention it. It was just a post pretty relative to what i asked and therefore far from being useless. :-)
