Title: Lost Internet
Post by: swift240 on November 16, 2008, 02:27:31 PM
Hi all,
I used to use my Amiga 1200 towered with Mediator and Fast Ethernet not a problem, Internet nice
Then one day our router decided to die.
So I got a new one from eBay a WIFI router that has also 4 ethernet ports.
PC on WIFI or cable yes and so is Linux Ubuntu WIFI or cable not a problem.
But the Amiga no  way does it work on cable like it used to before.
I don't know how to get it to work I have tried all I know but still nothing.
I get the Cant resolve error.
Any help please
TIA,

Mike.

Hi,
can you ping the "interface" IP of your WiFi box ?
If no, your card or your cable might be dead.
Which NET stack do you use ?

More likely the new router is using a different IP range to the old one and the Amiga us using a static IP address which has not been updated. E.g. the old router was using 192.168.1.x and the new one is using 10.0.1.x. You should make sure your Amiga is configured with the correct gateway, subnet mask and IP address to connect to your router.
