Hi can the A1200 Microbotics MX1230 support up to 128 mb 72 pin simms 40-100ns EDO ram? What about ECC ram?
The card was made before EDO ram so I dunno if this is possible.

I worked with this card a few times ago:
On the card were a 128Mb fpm 32x36 72pin memory, ecc
with 60ns.
It works fine. I have in my head, that the ram must be
defined over the software. I put on 128Mb via the
software and when the memory was only 32 or deeper it shows the correct size.

I have 128Mb on mine MBX1230XA. Works perfectly.
The memory bank is EDO, of course. Just watch out: there exists some 3.3V memory sticks around who will fry the memory controller.
But those are easy to spot: they have a square chip on the middle of the SIMM.

Just got the MX1230, after I run the enble memory utility, I get the full 8 megs but I also get garbled newicons on my workbench, all the 4 color icons are fine. What's going on here?
