I am running OS 3.9, but I cannot figure out how to read DVD-Rs that I have written (or any other DVD for that matter.)
I have a DVD drive installed that works great reading all different types of CDs. But, my OS does not appear to understand DVD files systems.
I have looked through the forums, but nothing seems to help explain how we read DVDs on Amiga OS.
Any help would be appreciated.

Reading a DVD shouldn't require any special steps. I'm able to read DVDs using just the normal CacheCDFS filesystem that comes with OS3.9. Are you using this filesystem, or something else?

@jiffydos:
Make sure the DVDs are written in ISO format. UDF is not supported by CacheCDFS.

only can read udf with Elbox fastata interface and AllegroCDFS

That's an interesting point. I will check to see if it is UDF or ISO.

Well,
I figured it out.
The DVD was in HFS format. I re-downloaded the ISO and burned it using my linux box rather than my MacBook and all is good now.
Thanks everyone.

The DVD was in HFS format.
So HFS format for DVDs must be different from CDs. Because IIRC CacheCDFS is supposed to read HFS CDs, too.

That's how it's advertised, but nobody has confirmed it yet. From my own tests, I got no disk which could be read by AllegroCDFS but not by CacheCDFS. Each DVD I tried which failed with CacheCDFS failed with AllegroCDFS, too.
