Title: Amiga 3000 SCSI CDROM and OS 3.0
Post by: amigakid on November 08, 2008, 10:14:58 PM
Hello i had a few questions.  First I picked up a Amiga 3000 with an external SCSI CD-ROM(NEC).  The Amiga has 18 megs RAM 68030 CPU and an internal 800 meg SCSI HDD.  I put in another 4.3GB Barracuda SCSI drive and upgraded the ROM to 3.1.  Currently I was forced to reinstall the OS down to OS2, because I installed OS3.0 and it won't boot to the Workbench, just in a cli window.  I can load WB from CLI still though.  I copied the sys files from workbench (df0:c/copy df0:#? sys: all clone), but it still boots to CLI.  I tried booting from workbench 3.0 disk and 3.0 install, but still only goes to the CLI.  I have two questions what driver for the CD-ROM can I D/L, i tried aminet but couldn't fins one.  I also have OS 3.5 on CD and want to install it, but cant mount the SCSI CD-ROM.  Also am i being a doofus nd missing something about installing os3.  When i try to boot from cli to workbench from workbench 3.0(Floppy)it works fine, but when i try to install it gives me the message to insert volume ENV.  Any suggestions can be helpful.

IdeFIX97 is the way. Don't bother with the name, it works very well with SCSI drives.
