Title: Free stuff Atlanta Ga area
Post by: Plaz on November 06, 2008, 01:54:56 AM
I'm cleaning house and I have some Amiga and Commodore bits that need to go. If any one local would like some spare parts contact me. Some good, some just spare parts.

I have one nearly complete A2000. It needs a kickstart rom, but probably works ok.
Spare A2000 mother board with a few chips missing, gary and a cia I think.
A couple of Commodore 64 machines. They worked at one time, not tested in a long time though.
A couple of cards. 8up memory board, AdSCSI
A1200 system, very odd custom though. It's an A1200 mother board stuffed in an A500 case tethered to an old xt box that houses the HD and floppy. Worked when I put it on the shelf years ago, not tested in a long time.
Couple of extra 1541 floppy drives.

PM me.
Plaz
(Still hanging on to my other amigas)

PM sent

Update:

If there is any item I receive from Plaz that I cannot use myself, I will offer it here @ A.org for the same price I received it (free) plus actual shipping cost.

Looking for an A2000 floppy (or two) and maybe some other bits (any A2630 or A2091s in there?).  If you don't have any local takers and are willing to ship let me know.

Edit:  Sorry, it's late and I thought I was sending a PM.

You'd be surprised how much you make parting the systems out. Ship priority mail and have USPS deliver your shipping boxes. theyy'll even pickup for you. You won't get rich but you'll spread the Amigas around to those that are obviously die hard and willing to preserve them.

Looks like FireDawg is first in line, and PM sent. Thanks for the suggestions on parting out. I've done many, many online sales and auctions.  For this lot, the time/effort vs return after testing/advertising/boxing/shipping just isn't worth my time though. I still have other items I'm keeping or may decide to offer up, but they are more valuable and hopefully would bring a few $$$ for my next adventure. What would that be?..... my avatar holds a clue. :-)
