Title: PCMCIA Ram card on the A1200
Post by: Crom00 on November 03, 2008, 06:36:55 PM
Will these work on the A1200, how much can I ad as system ram.

Just need extra ram for whdload stuff and loading the WB. Will soon have 4mb fast ram via trap door. I am not using my A1200 for any task other than playing games and tinkering, and pixel art every now and then in PPAint, or Dpaint 5.

They should work but they will be very slow.  I wouldn't recommend using PCMCIA memory for anything other than a RAM disk on anything faster than a stock A600.  The maximum address space is 4 megs.

Also there is a good chance the 4mb pcmcia memory card will conflict with the trapdoor expansion.

What card are you adding in the trapdoor.

You don't want to use the PCMCIA RAM card. You would be better off buying another 4Mb GVP SIMM from Software Hut. At least that would give you 8Mb.
