Title: CDTV (not CDV-II) gives up blue smoke!
Post by: redrumloa on November 01, 2008, 02:37:01 PM

Yup, this guy booted up and was working fine when some blue smoke and electrical burn smell started coming from the power supply. Looks like I will be rebuilding a CDTV power supply before I sell this puppy :boohoo:

On the plus side I got to test the SCSI-TV before it gave off the blue smoke.

Sorry to hear that :-(

Those Amtrix SCSI cards are the dogs bollox for CDTV owners.

Some guy in German made some clones of an alternative model a few years ago but they sold out very quickly.

Next year I will make some new SCSI-Cards. The rest of this year I have no time (must renovate my house and then move.. a lot of work).

And to all the people who asked for plans to build the card:
I do not give it to you ! I had to pay lizence-fees to get the Copyrights. Therefore wait for better times  :-D

I have some red smoke around here for sale.  Not sure it will fit though and can't guarantee functionality.

BLUE SMOKE?

Sounds like the Joker from the 60's Batman TV series sabotaged your CDTV....

That or you electrocuted a SMURF that was hibernating in there...
