Anybody need a new 68040 Processor? It is a Military Grade IC (high quality). A special heatsink for this processor will be included. Make me an offer. :-D

It is a Military Grade IC (high quality).
Can you take a few pictures of it and put them up on the net somewhere?
I'm curious to see how the Military Grade 040 differs from a normal one.
How did you determine it's mil spec?
-
Because it came from an Amiga 2000HD Professional! The military only used Professional Amigas.
I do have the Dold Disk Amiga 2000 professional manual and software. Maybe this is where the professional thing came from.

I doubt you have a military grade 040.
A Military spec 68040 costs over 1000USD alone. If it is radiation herdened it can costs around 2000 USD.
It will have all gold plating, operate from -55 to +125C ambient, have a DESCC drawing number and a CoC. The chip package is not black but grey.
Does you chip have this?
Did Motorola or Atmel make the chip?
Why would anyone put a Mil spec CPU in a commercial computer?

I give up. :-?

@Mikeymike
I have worked in the Aerospace/Defence industry for 5 years. I have contacted Atmel who make the Military spec 68000s and PowerPCs for pricing in the past.

The 68000 family fly the majority of commercial and military aircraft in service. Newer commercial and military aircraft are using PowerPC variants, from the 603 to the 7400.

I'd really like to see a photo of the mil spec package.. I checked the datasheet, but it only had a line illustration..

Being in the US navy I have seen a few. They do look a lot like the normal ones. Quite a bit of the Military computers I work on here that operate the missile system I work on have 68040 and even 060 in them. I have yet to seen any Intel cpu in anything.

To mikeymike:
This 68040 is grey with gold plated legs and heatsink. It is heavy for its size. I was thinking about keeping it for my second Amiga 2000HD, but I do not think that I will need that much power. :-D
