I want to use a CF card to backup, and data transfer between an A3000 and a PC running winUAE.
Found these options for the A3000 scsi interface:
Adtron SDDS Cardpak™ PC Card Drive, internal SCSI to CF reader (http://www.adtron.com/products/Sdds.html)
an End-of-Life Product $?
Microtech PCD-50B, SCSI-2 Internal 5-slot CF Card Read-Writer (http://www.psism.com/scsi50band60b.htm)
$169
ACARD SCSI to IDE Adapter, Model AEC-7720U (http://www.acard.com/english/fb01-product.jsp?idno_no=23&prod_no=AEC-7720U&type1_title=SCSIDE%20Bridge&type1_idno=2)
$80
Addonics Embedded Single Slot and Dual Slot IDE-CF adapters (http://www.addonics.com/products/flash_memory_reader/adebidecf.asp)
single slot $22
dual slot $24
feedback or suggestions from someone who is already doing this?
Know of sny Amiga vendors selling a package like this?

I think something like this (http://www.addonics.com/products/flash_memory_reader/adidecf.asp) is the way to go for your CF adapter, and the SCSI -> IDE adapter can be had somewhat inexpensively here (http://cgi.ebay.com/Acard-AEC-7720U-SCSI-To-IDE-Bridge-Card-Adapter-3-75_W0QQitemZ350044078177QQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116). You could set up your CF hard drive with WinUAE, install everything you want, stick the card in your A3K and you're all set. :)

Good Tip on the SCSI>>IDE adapters!
I'll order extras for the A2000's I have in storage.
IDE 40 PIN to CF Compact Flash Internal Card Adapter (http://cgi.ebay.com/IDE-40-PIN-to-CF-Compact-Flash-Internal-Card-Adapter-68_W0QQitemZ280276564089QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item280276564089&_trkparms=72%3A1234%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14)
$1 + $3.99 S&H !!!!!

Microtech PCD-50B, SCSI-2 Internal 5-slot CF Card Read-Writer
It says SCSI 2. Does anyone know if this supports a SCSI 1 controller to CF as well???

Erm, more like $30 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290184276927)
Edit: Ah -D- is already on the case!
SCSI-2 is backwards compatible with SCSI-1. Take care with these exotic readers. Any that require their own drivers under windows to work are probably not compatible with AmigaOS

The seller of the $30 Acard adaptors only ships to USA.
redrumloa has some for sale though...

MetalMan is in the USA

I know alexh ;-) but as this is a public forum I figured that an international seller would be of some value.... :-P

I have AEC-7720U (http://cgi.ebay.com/AEC-7720U-SCSI-to-IDE-adapter-Amiga-2000-3000-1200-etc_W0QQitemZ120323530464QQihZ002QQcategoryZ4598QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262) for sale at $45 each. I may not be the rock bottom price, but my shipping is cheaper :-)

Thanks for the tips on the ACARD AEC-7720U, thats is s great price, I ordered 4, when i googled I could only find them at the $80 list price.
I also ordered 6 of the IDE to CF adaptors
1 USB Hub and All-in-1 Memory Card Reader for the PC/uae system
and 3 4GB CF ultra memory cards (http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-4GB-COMPACT-FLASH-MEMORY-CARD-ULTRA-II-2-CF-SPEEDY_W0QQitemZ370104884562QQihZ024QQcategoryZ18871QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
I've decided that the Quantum 4.3S hd in the A3000 is getting flaky, causing lots of crashed and reboots.
These crashes prompted me to back up the Quantum hd to the PC/WinUAE machine and when the Quantum hd was plugged into it crashed on that computer also. Seems to be overheating, because after the harddrive cools off its ok again for about 2-3hrs.
So the CF memory cards will now be the new harddrive and floppy replacement as it seems the only working floppy drive I have anymore is the Catwesel installed in the WinUAE machine :-(
