Yes, this is listed in the bad a** sale thread, but truly unique items deserve a dedicated thread  :-D

WOW, I've never even heard of that machine.

Bet it go's for way more than I'd be willing to pay (which isn't much having just bought a Sam)

Gaz

I love it, but I won't be buying it  :-D
Clone reminds me of PCs, hehe

But still, a nice find among that stash you've bought.

I'm guessing that the Indivision AGA won't fit.

Nice item.  I'd bid on it, but my wife would kill me.  I'm supposed to be selling my spare Amigas, not buying more.  ;-)

I've put a bid in! I must be completely mad but it is just too cool

I'm with Darrin...the wife would kill me.  And I've been selling things to get the pile down a bit!

Truly amazing!  I've never seen or heard of this Clone but it looks to be quite a catch!

I wonder how many of these are around?  Is this what all the SCALA folks were up to in the mid-90s?

AFAIK only this one. I still have about 40 boxes to go through, but it is doubtful there are any more in this lot.

I bid $350 for it using my Girlfriends account! Lucky I got outbid I suppose

I was just wondering how long it actually is?  It looks from the photo that there is a fair amount of it that would be sticking out from the back of a 5.25" bay.

Cheers,
Rudi.

I wish I had seen this before I bought my NOS A1200 and Blizzard 1230! It would make a great alternative to an A1200. Mind you, it looks like it's going to sell for a lot!

Am I correct in thinking that this utilises the host PC's mouse and keyboard?  Furthermore, if the winner of this auction wished to mod the system into a standalone case (i.e. without mounting inside a host PC) what additional hardware would be necessary in order for it to be useful?

This is a very interesting piece of hardware - I am rather curious about the improved chipmem access speed...who knows, it may even allow dblpal/multisync/super72 etc. modes to be useful at 8bit colour!

Cheers,
James

about collection:

That picture you showed before you drove to get the stuff didn't seem to have as many boxes in it as you keep saying you actually got. Was it just part of the load?

You gots all kinds of neat a "R@RE!!11" things in there. Was it the collection of some weirdo hoarding Amiga collector type? Did his wife get mad at him and so he finally got rid of the collection so she could have a place to put her stairmaster?

about access:

Couldn't this piece of technology have been a good replacement thing that people were looking for all these years? It looks like someone did make something that everyone was looking for but nobody really knew about.

Well, then you have missed a lot in the past. The Access was showed on various shows, there were reports in magazines, there was project webpage and all that stuff back in 1997. The guy behind the Access did also the InsideOut and Boxer mainboard.

I wouldn't call him a weirdo, but your guess is probably pretty close

Hmmm,  I have a brand new one of these PCB boards sitting in a filing cabinet down in the shed.
I've had it for years and never even powered it up.

So, if anyone in OZ would like it,  make me an offer.

I have a shed full of old classic Amiga gear that I really should go through and list on a web site sometime.

With no expansion possibilities I am surprised that it went for as much as it did. Must have gone to a collector (strange people!)

Meh, win some and lose some. I'd probably put this one in the win column. :-)
