I've got an order with Vesalia for a SAM440ep and mini-itx case. Anyone got any idea roughly how long it will take to reach me in the UK? I expect it's been shipped the cheapest way possible.
As you probably can tell, I'm getting impatient :-)
Cheers,
Rudi.

Have you been informed that your order has been shipped?
I,m waiting patiently as well and hav,nt heard anything yet
has anyone heard anything from Vesalia.

I bought something from Vesalia a while ago. Think i had it within a week, and i suppose it shouldn't take longer to UK than to Sweden.
-
I've ordered a lot of things in the past from Vesalia, included my Pegasos2 mobo back in 2003.
Small packets need about 1-2 weeks to arrive, and bigger ones nearly a month. But this not applies everytime (shipping to Greece).

I had an email back from them last friday (17th) saying:
"...your kit is already being assembled and we expect to ship it tomorrow (or on Monday at latest)."
I then sent them an email asking whether they could give me a rough delivery estimate and also a product query (unrelated to the SAM) on the 21st. I haven't received a reply to that email as yet but as of yesterday their website seems to be unavailable.
So maybe it'll arrive this coming monday (fingers crossed)

Perhaps they are awaiting an item of stock to fulfill your order? Delivery would probably take a week or so from Germany to UK.
We have started despatching our preliminary SAM preorders right now, so I would imagine Vesalia would be no different. Maybe try giving them a call for an update?

I suppose it also depends on customs in both countries ... but as a general rule of thumb, 10 working days is about the maximum time you can expect for a package to arrive within the EU (providing, as Amigakit mentions, they have the stock to send).
-
There is free trade between Germany and UK and rest of Europe - no customs intervention required.
Most of our packages reach Germany from our UK office within about 1-5 working days. We use DPD delivery network within Europe for large packages.
I think Vesalia uses the courier called 'Hermes' which has no office in the UK so instead they use a third party agent to deliver and they can take a little longer as they pass the package around third party delivery agents until it reaches its final local destination within the UK. Hermes tracking system is consequently not so good but I have no reason to doubt their reliability.

My Sam was shipped from Vesalia on Monday, but i have not got it yet.
The only problem with Vesalia is that they are very slow to answer their emails.

I ordered a CD and it took no more than a week to reach the UK.
How much did the board cost you?

Hi,
Thanks for all the replies.
I haven't had an email from Vesalia but now that their website is back up, I checked the status of my order and there is now a DHL tracking number. The DHL site doesn't seem to have any information yet on my package so I presume it's only just been despatched. Oh well only about a week after they said it would be and only about a month after I ordered it...I don't mind though as long as it arrives in one piece :-)
Cheers,
Rudi.

Thats good to hear- if you dont mind me asking - why did you order from Germany and not from within the UK?

Because I'm an idiot :-)
Seriously though it was only because I played around with the configuration options for the SAM on their site, liked what I came up with and just ended up ordering it! All a bit rash to be honest.

I have been scooping up several (non-amiga) bits from ebay germany recently, and as soon as my payment was received, the items arrived withing 6-7 working days here in UK
hope this helps

Never send them e-mails!
If you insist to send e-mails to them don't be surprised if you never get an reply.
(I'm still waiting on an reply from them to my mail of 13. may this year. My mail was an order - combined with a question. This week I phoned them and asked when I can expect the parts I ordered with that mail and was told that my mail somehow was forgotten and the part in question is sold out meanwhile. It remais to be seen if it ever will be available again.)
If you want to ask them questions use the phone...
(AFAIK "Vesalia" only consists of Mr. Does and his wife and they simply don't have enough time to answer all the e-mails)

Strange guys, I sent Vesalia an email last night and had an answer from Guido within 3 hours. He has always been prompt in answering my mail and the good news is that my Sam was posted two days ago so I should have it towards the end of next week :-D I drool in anticipation.
