Anyone else familiar with the GVP A-530 68030E accelerator for the A-500? It plugs into the A500's expansion slot, thus ruling out the A570. It has a SCSI controller that controlls up to 6 devices. My machine currently includes 2 hard drives mounted in an external case, with its own power supply, and more slots available. Can one obtain SCSI CD-ROM devices, and would it work with WB 2.04???

yes, and yes again.
so yeah, if you have an external scsi case, and relevant cables, all you need is something like asimCDFS, tell it the device name, and scsi ID number, and you should be laughing.
ideally, get the 3.1 Rom and get OS3.5 or 3.9 as these have built in CD filesystems.
i wanted an A530 turbo for as long as i had my A500. you swine! :-D

Thanks for the tip. Is OS 3.5/ ROM 3.1 compatible with the old A500? Never had the inclination to upgrade the KS as I was alway happy with my exiting system. The A530 runs great (knock wood), and is near 10 years old now. The peformance she gives me prevented my wanting to obtain an A2000 orA4000.The original A500 is 18 years old now, and still runs good as well. Has kept me happily in the stone age however!!! Haven't figured out how to hook her up to my old A1000 yet! :-D

yup, should work fine. worked with my A570 and all the other crap i shoehorned under the bonnet. :-D
just get the A500/A2000 version (single 16bit rom)
as the A1200/A3000/A4000 were A-B dual roms for 32bit addressing.
should be able to buy from amiga dealers on the web. then OS3.5/3.9 will work :-)
