Which is a better sound card for playing MP3's, Toccata or Delfina Lite? I have both but have never installed the Delfina. I'm not really happy with the sound quality of the Toccata so far but there may be other issues involved (MP3 Player, speakers, preamp). Any advice would be appreciated.

I have a Delfina and IF you tweak the software right you get nice sound from the DSP with MP3s.

Delfina has a hardware decoder and I always found the sound to be great. The only problem with the Delfina was when using the hardware decoder driver you would get intermittent interruptions. I seem to remember reading a while ago this bug had finally been fixed, maybe some time right after the Flipper Edition was released. If that has indeed been fixed, the Delfina would be the way to go IMO.

I use the MP3@64! Works great if you have an open clockport. Bonus! I can even stream mp3's off the internet with it, and it never touches the hard drive...

I am not happy with the sound quality of my Toccata either, sound quality is horrible!. I think I heard that if you replace the capacitors, quality will improve, can someone verify this?

I'm using a MAS player pro. Doesn't need a clockport and also can be used to stream mp3s off the internet. However the regular amiga shops don't sell them anymore , so if you want one you'd have to go the Ebay route or maybe there's someone on amiga.org that's willing to sell you one.
Edit: as far as your original question: I'd go for the delfina.

Somewhat on topic, what have Delfina(original zorro) and Delfina Lite been selling for lately? Last I checked Delfina would go for about $300 on eBay and Delfina Lite about $225. What about now :-?

I have been wondering about getting an MP3@64 for my A1200. I'll have to talk to you more about this later this week when I see you. What Amiga model are you using it in?
