What's the deal with sys 4 on Xbox? Anyone know what it will let you do?
-
The AmigaSYS is a fully pre-configured AmigaOS system. To install, you'll need the original AmigaOS CD or disk (AmigaOS 3.0 or 3.1 or 3.9), after installing these, we will get the full configured system. The AmigaSYS pack contains every important program, wich could be required by the user.

To add to what odin said, the XBox version allows you to run this pre-configured, emulated AmigaOS installation on an XBox. You need a chipped or soft-modded XBox in order to run the emulator.

Look at XBMC.
You can turn your Xbox in a full multimedia/emulation macchine 8-)

Thanks, I think I'd be going for the soft modded option. I guess there wouldn't be much to it and no shortage of how-to's on the net.

I got all the information I needed from here:
http://www.xbox-scene.com/
I used info from that site to identify the best mod chip (at the time), and also a good guide on how to replace the hard drive and get started downloading and installing homebrew software (the hardest part is finding it...)
There are guides on softmods there too which look fairly straightforward, but I haven't actually used them since I decided to install a mod chip instead.
Edit-
My chipped XBox is inside my arcade cabinet, with UAE and MAME installed. One day I will finish the cabinet :-)

Have modded lots of these. The XBOX makes a great AGA Everything emulations media player. It'll handle any media game a non windows crippled Pentium 4 celeron 733 with 64 megs can handle. The media center alone is worth the effort of getting this done. Microsoft will never enable XBOX360 with the media features this cheap (now $59 used) system offers.

its a celleron P3 not a p4. It makes a nice media center indeed but its a little underpowered for 14 MHz aga emulation.
