I am having problems getting a Toccata sound card to work on my A3000T. I just received it in the mail recently and the person I got it from said it worked. I got no documentation with it, only an installation disk. I can't seem to get any native Amiga sound out of it. At first I got nothing but some crackling when starting up. I downloaded the toccata.library 12 from Aminet and used it instead of the one that came on the disk and now I can get the test tone from the AHI prefs program but when I run Moovid or riva I still get no sound. The online manual unfortunatly is in german and not much help. Could anybody maybe walk me through some things I should do or try? Thanks,
Dan

Toccata info (http://articles.erkan.se/macrosystem-toccata-16-bit-sound-card/) might help. ...and yah, the manual in german is not much help. :-D

You need to route Amiga sound from the Amiga into an input port on the soundcard then you need to enable that channel in the Toccata prefs program, otherwise you are going to have two sound outputs. One native Amiga sound and one Toccata sound output.

That is kind of what I was afraid of. I was hoping the card would pass through the native sound but I haven't figured out how to do it yet. I was led to believe this because it appears that the Toccata is supossed to be able to mix native sound with line input sound. I am also not an expert on AHI sound and have been trying to figure that out. The instruction manual for that isn't the easiest thing to figure out. (At least it isn't in German :)) I guess I will try and buy a patch cable to day to go from the 2 RCA jacks on the back of the computer to the line-in jack on the Toccata card and see what happens. Up till now the only sound I have gotten out of the card are the test tones from the prefs program.

Send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you the manual in ENGLISH!!!

I would also like the english manual please. buzz@exotica.org.uk - why not send your english manual to the hardware reference sites ?
-
What site would that be?
-
http://amiga.resource.cx/ for example only has the manual in German.

Yes, I agree the AHI and soundcard area can be a bit confusing at first :-)
But the only thing you need is a twin RCA cable to stereo phono plug that you connect to the Amiga white and red RCA connector. Then you need an adapter for the phono plug of the cable to the bigger stereo phono connector (whats its name again?) that the Toccata uses for the input and output connectors.
