Does anyone can help me with my A2000? She has stopped to work without turbocard. All I get is just a yellow screen. I tried to change the original 68k cpu, but no success. She does work when turbo is inserted. Thanks.

no, battery was removed a long time ago, mobo has no signs of leakage

Check for a bad trace near the 68000 cpu and/or maybe Fat Agnus has a problem (try reseating it but do use a proper PLCC tool). As for the battery, even though you removed it, that acid could have leaked before and unless neutralized will continue to eat at a trace. I have an A2000 that had corroded the inner pins of the 68000 socket just from the gases coming out of the battery, even though the m/b near the battery showed hardly any corrosion. The only fix is to desolder the socket and replace with a new one.
Yellow is a hardware exception error so it could also have something to do with the Buster subsystem (a classic example of this is when you try to boot an A3000 desktop without the daughterboard installed). Red usually is a ROM problem. Green is a chipram problem and Blue signifies custom chip problem(s). Black/dark grey screen means cpu error (if you see a yellow screen at least the cpu is initially working). Light Grey screen means it almost will boot but is getting hung up on the software side just before boot (maybe fastram problem, Bridgette on A4000, Budgie on A1200 or even a bad CIA could be responsible).

Yet anther question please - any idea why the same accelerator card is working in A2000 rev 4.1 but not in rev 6.2? Is there any jumper or something?

I am sick of these A2000's. Harms accelerator is working in rev 4.1 but not in 6.2 and Supra is working in 6.2 but not in 4.1. :madashell:

I don't know much about either of these accelerators. I take it the Supra is just a fast 68000 chip with some sram. The Harms is a German accelerator; I've never seen one here in the States. Try the Big Board of Amiga Hardware for information on jumper settings, compatibility with various A2000 revs. There are some slight differences between 4.x and 6.x A2000s, but they are basically the same machines. The only accelerators I know of that have a jumper for a 4.x versus a 6.x motherboard are some of the ones made by GVP. So there must be at least some timing difference between them. A2000s are pretty nice machines all in all so don't give up so quickly.

wow, that's kinda funny. In a sadistic way. :-D
Why not leave them in the units that they function in? Which Harms version are you working with? Does it need software installed to function?
I just replaced a Supra Turbo28 in a rev.6 A2000 with a PPS'040 figuring I'd have some issues. Was the easiest install of an accelerator since the SupraTurbo28. Now I just need to locate eight 4meg simms to get the most out of it.

thx guys, i have it finally - there is a jumper on the card that must be "on" in rev 4.x and "off" in rev 6.x :crazy:
@T3000 i have a Harms Professional 3000 (nice card, i like it because of "two mouse buttons" fallback mode - i just wish I had a manual:))
