Title: A3000 INT_2 Modification
Post by: dannyp1 on October 06, 2008, 03:45:49 PM
Is there a program that you can run that will tell you if the A3000 computer it is running on has had the INT-2 modification or not?  I just thought that if there was it would be a lot easier than taking the motherboard out of the computer to see if it had been done.  Thanks,

No, because this signal is a hardware level interrupt.  On the A3000 fast slot, which is where it's often missing from, it's usually used for SCSI controller interrupts on a CPU board.  You don't have software control over this interrupt.

However, it's only a quick test with an Ohmmeter to confirm if you need to modify the board or not.

There's a guide I wrote on it here (http://amiga.serveftp.net/A3000_INT2_mod.html), refer to the image at the bottom of the page on testing (http://amiga.serveftp.net/images/A3000_INT2/TestingCompletedJob-large.jpg).
