Title: Amiga North Thames still active?
Post by: danwood on September 30, 2008, 12:55:59 PM
Hi,

Anyone know if they're still going?  According to their website they have meetings coming up, but some of the rest of it looks outdated (talking about Amiga Active, previews of OS 4.0 etc.), so maybe the meeting dates are just auto-generated?

I moved to London this month and wanted to go to a meeting, but I emailed them from the contact form on the site a month ago and heard nothing back so far.

Any ideas?

If not are there any other active Amiga groups around London?  I think SEAL are still going?

Information about an ANT meeting on Oct 12 here:
http://www.amigans.net/modules/news/article.php?storyid=624

They aren't into Amiga stuff anymore though, just OS4, so prepare to be disappointed.

It is OS4 I'm interested in, I've recently acquired an AmigaOne and have 4.1 on the way.  Is in an amiga group still though? (not mac/pc etc.).

Odd how they never replied to my email though.

I would imagine that being "Amiga North Thames" and holding an OS4.1 demo they would still be an Amiga group. ;-)

Try not to be confused by Jorkany's low-quality trolling.  :roll:

Yes, ANT is still active, but maybe the email link isn't working...

I would hardly say we "aren't into Amiga stuff anymore".  We have *widened* ANT's scope to allow non-Amiga stuff, but real Amigas still get brought in.  And I imagine with OS4 machines (finally) being available to buy, that can only increase!

Cake, tea & biscuits are usually available :-)

(And Pringles, at least if you get there before the Pringle Monster eats them all...)

Now if you were offering copious amounts of free Monster Munch snacks and maybe lemonade ... then Moto would probably turn up lol

Hi Danwood

Myself and Steve Replied to your email via the ANT Website, I have PM'd you with the email address you supplied, so that you can check.

Yes, the website is never updated, we are too lazy to do so I guess.
The group is still going strong and will soon be into its 10th year.

Our next Meeting is Sunday October 12th, Where Rigo will be showcasing the New SAM440EP running OS4.1

I will post as a news item later on Amiga.org.

Regards
Mikey C
ANT Chairman.

@bloodline
Yeah your mum is a bit of a monster! *ducks*

@ZeBeeDee
I know what they are, I'm just not sure how you came to the idea that they, combined with lemonade, can be used to lure me to user group meetings... it hasn't happened yet!

Well, that's how supply and demand works. I demand it and she supplies it :-P

(Should we move this to CH? ;-) )
