It occured to me this morning that the reason why the indivision might not be seating properly on HP Lisa is that the HP Lisa might have a lower profile than the CBM Lisa and so it cant grab on as well.
So, I sanded the Indivision Lisa chip holder down so that the brown plastic was at the same level as the metal chip grabbers and it now fits much better. Its certainly not going to pop off on its own like it was doing before ... previously it had even got the stage where it no longer remained on!
Might be worth a try if your in the same boat. Obviously, take care of your Indy when your doing it and dont forget to remove all the plastic dust that will end up inside the chip socket.

Thanks for the tip, I will consider doing that if I continue to get the occasional "pop off".

Anyone tried this yet...if so what happened?
Seems to fit much better on a commodore Lisa so this mod might really help with stability?

This might explain why I thought the DCE scandoubler I had for a short while was defective. Grumble.
Calling the Macro Madness guys! Want to do a comparison of HP vs. Commodore Lisas?

The NCR Lisa is even worse.
I took delivery of a CBM Lisa 1200 motherboard yesterday so its been smooth sailing since. But I found the HP Lisa to be a much better fit than the NCR Lisa.

If someone wants to provide an A1200 with a CBM Lisa, I'll happily do it :-)
