Hi everyone!
I powered on my A3000D after a long time nice to see it still works.
But....
I remember I sent the mobo to a technician (I think 6 0r 7 years ago) cause some zip problems. They sent me A3000 back and all seemed to go.
Recently I powered on again the A3000 and after the boot up I discovered that only chip ram is present.. Fast ram displays 0!!!
I disassembled again A3000, cleaned mobo from dust, checked zips was well fitted, assembled all parts again, powered on and the HD doesn't works anymore. Hd led rests inactive and no boot up happens. I tryed with different config (one hd instead of two, I changed scsi cable, excluded cd reader) but nothing.
Any ideas? Maybe scsi controller is dead?!?!?
I cannot believe it... :-(

Check for battery leaking and secondary damage around it.
Some chip contacts may have oxidized a bit. Try reseating the chips.
Check voltage outputs from PSU.

Thanks for suggestions!
Battery doesn't seem to strain any liquid (no traces around or on the other side of mobo). Some weldings seems to be oxidized or better, blackened (short circuit?).
I will check chips and voltage now.
A strange effect: I connected the two HD without power connector and when I powered A3000 the HD led and both floppyes leds stayed on. The same if I connect HD without power cable and CD with power cable. If I connect even only one HD power connector (with A3000 powered off, of course) the led rests off and floppyes leds on. Note that HD start to rotate and never stops, but doesn't load (seems a loop...).
Inserting a CD in the reader it works but nothing else happens. Paula, Denise and Fat Agnus become hot (I think is normal); M68030 become hot too (don't know if is normal... In theory, who is using it??); daughter board become hot in the zorro III side (no cards in slots).

A3000 is the only Amiga that needs battery for SCSI and stuff, it might be a good idea to replace it.
check cables and termination.

Thanks orange! I'll do it. :-)

I removed the battery from my A3000, it still works fine.
If the PSU voltages are ok, try booting with just the floppy drive connected.
Does the kickstart screen show?
Do you know witch kickstart your A3000 have? Softboot 1.4, Kickstart 3.1 in ROM, or?..

@ taunusand:
Sorry..I answer only now because... I'll explain later ;-)
Well, I tried booting only with floppyes but nothing happened: floppyes seem to be in a total non-working state. I even tried to insert a floppy but nothing. Kickstart screen doesn't appear anymore...
A3000 mounts kickstart 3.1 roms.
Next week I'll do a another check using another ...A3000!!
Oh yes, I did it again.... I bought an A3000 on ebay . It's like a new one (you can see here A3000 (http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/1272/amiga3000tbus0.jpg)). Mad? Yes, maybe.. But who cares?
I'll let you know.
:-)

Mad? No way, then I would be mad to :-D
Most hobbies have "must have" items ;-)

It's arrived!!! Finally the other A3000D I purchased on ebay is here!!! It seems like a new one and works well but has one defect: leaking battery :madashell: I'm going to fix it as soon as possible.
By the way, I tried to check the old one using HD, floppy and cables of this 3000 but nothing happened again. No boot in no way... The problem stands.
