I received an A4000D with a "video magician" videoslot scandoubler
(http://bboah.com/display_photos/videomagic_1_sm.jpg)
the problem is that it outputs a very dark picture... tried 2 crt monitors, they are the same... there is an adjustment screw on the scandoubler, that fixes brightness, but only a bit, it is still unusable... the card looks OK , there is no visible damage...

there are 3 switches on the bracket , but they make no difference...
anyone else has this sd??? :getmad: the seller says that if I connect the sd to the picassoII+ input that the amiga has, output will be OK... haven't tried it yet since I left the amiga at the office, but that does not sound good to me LOL

Is this your third A4000D?
Where is the adjuster? Is there a POT at the top right of the board behind the VGA?
Have you tried the SVideo output or the Composite output?
What is the RED connector for?
Does your card have the 10's of jumpers on the expansion port like the one in the photo?
-
yes, 3rd one , BUT I already donated it for testing purposes to a friend that repairs some hardware in Greece
the adjuster is behind the vga-out, next to the 3 capacitors... it moves only 3/4 of a turn and adjusts brightness ONLY A LITTLE...
have not tried svideo/vhs yet... and I have no idea about the jumpers or the red connector...
the card is the same, but mine has ALL chip markings deleted... I will check the jumpers just in case :-D
edit: there is a manual here in German: http://amiga.resource.cx/manual/VideoMagician.pdf
it appears red is CVBS and jumper1 is flickerfix on/off...

If your card is missing the jumpers it could mean something.

Red is CVBS IN and yellow CVBS OUT.

all the jumpers are in place fine, will test it now on my grex A4000 , in Arxon's place
edit: tried it, still same dark pic... damn
