I'm confused! Just read that some guy who was selling his A-1200 was NOT including the registered software that is installed in his Amiga. Does that mean if I try to sell my Amiga that has several registered programs, say from DPaint to any other registered software installed in it I have to INCLUDE all them softwares?...What if one lost them or what if one bought an Amiga with those softwares already installed?..Just curious ...Thank you for your time & all have a nice Amiga day!

The problem was not that he was including the software without the original disk because he had lost it. The problem was that he was planning include the software (OS4) and still use it on another machine.

For most Amiga software out there, worrying about it is kind of pointless, but you don't "legally" own the software unless you've obtained an original copy.
As for OS4, I'd imagine any serious up-to-date Amiga fan would want to have their own original copy, regardless of whether or not a machine they were buying happened to have it preinstalled. Those who don't care to have an original copy would probably just pirate it anyway.

If you plan to sell your computer then you should either remove all registered software from it first, or failing that you should include the original license and media along with the computer.
Personally I think you'd have to be crazy to not completely format a machine before selling it, to prevent any potential privacy issues.

Thanks to all who replied to my question! Now I understand and it all makes sense now.

there's a rule against pre-installed (sans disks included) software on ebay for a reason.
