Hi everybody, I have a small question and maybe you can help. I have an Amiga 2000 with an A2630 accelerator. When I try to boot in 68030 mode, my computer locks. I looked at the A2630 manual and it states to try booting the Amiga with "Fastmemfirst" early in the startup sequence. Where do I find this program and how do I ensure it is early in the startup sequence? Thanks.

IIRC, the A2630 have problems with any kickstart above 1.3 (2.0 and up) if the ROM is version 6.6 or less!
The program you need is certainly on the A2091 install/prep disk (http://www.l8r.net/install/hard_drive_cont/2091install127.DMS) on Amiga's Installer Heaven.
Or in any 1.3 Workbench disk, if I recall it correctly.

Thanks for the reply. I do have a A2091 scsi card also. It has version 7.0 ROM. I do have kickstart 3.1 though. With this configuration, should this problem still exist? Somtimes it boots and sometimes it doesn't. Would that link you provided me with fix this problem completely?

Thanks RKAUER, I downloaded the file. I have one question though. How do I open and install the file. the file is called "2091IN~1.DMS". I am not familiar how to open a DMS file. Thanks.

Here you go ... download Fastmemfirst here: Linky (http://rapidshare.com/files/145322735/System.zip.html)

Ok everybody, I successfully downloaded the "fastmemfirst" file, now I need to know how to ensure that it starts first. I suppose dropping it in the WBStartupw won't work, so what do I do? Do I need to edit a specific startup sequence on the system. Thanks.

Yes, edit the s-s and put the command like this in very early order (before setpatch):
"C:fastmemfirst >NIL:" (no quotes, obviously)

Ok, thanks. I downloaded the file and installed it like you stated. Even after in stalling this program I think it was a chip issue. I pulled and reseated every chip on the card and it worked fine after that. Thanks for the help.
