Hi all,
I've the Deneb installed and working sort of. On bootup I get a recoverable alert, which I can click through to boot into OS3.9.
I can get my USB zip drive working on the internal USB port on the Deneb board, but when I move it to the external ports - the two connected by cable to the board, the drive disappears. I've also tried a USB flash drive and its the same thing, shows on the internal but not the external.
Any ideas?
A4000D OS3.9, Cyberstorm MKII 060 128MB, CV3D, X-Surf 3c, Deneb 2.0.

Update Luciferin. See www.platon42.de

You probably connected the cable for the USB ports the wrong way round. This can easily kill the Deneb or the devices connected or both. The plain plastic faces down, the wireclips of the pins should be seen from above. The manual explains the right orientation.

Heck hope I've not knackered the card. The internal port works fine. No problems there.
I tried updating to V4.2 of poseidon but after installing I get requires at leas V4.2 of poseidon.library error and can't go any further.
Where do I fin the latest library? I1ve downloaded the latest archive using Poseidon.

thats because of the old resident poseidon.library in the flash of your deneb. trident 4.2 doesnt work with poseidon.library 4.1 or 4.0. first u need to update ur luciferin setup to 4.1. then u have to update the files on ur deneb-flash. in particular the poseidon.library have to be of actual versions number. u can find the 4.2 in the libs: directory.

Thanks. I've nNow got Poseidon V4.2 installeeed and working. But still get a recoverable alert at boot-up. Also have checked cable connections for the external USB ports, both cables are right way round.
The internal port works without any problems. I've just installed an internal card reader (ripped from my PC) in the desktop case after modifying the front facia to get it to fit and it works perfectly.
Just need to get the external ports working and sort out the recoverable alert on boot-up.

I've just noticed that you have a Cybervision 64 card.
Have you reflashed the Deneb with the lastest BIOS in order to fix the bug with the Cybervision?
My system used to Guru when I tried installing CybergraphX until I reflashed the Deneb with the update. Go to the Deneb site to get the instructions and file. Make sure you follow the instrcutions carefully.

well, i regularily got double recoverable alert on boot that i mostly miss to notice due to monitor warmup phase that takes way toooo long, but it doesnt affect stability of the system in any way i could record. i was being extensively using the system after that for hours without a single task crashing so i do not think this is an urgent issue. i merely believe it is due to the replacement libraries stored in the denebs flash, where some task @ startup gets messed up with, but i cannot really say.

Thanks Darrin. Updating the firmware on the Deneba and then powercycling has done the trick. No recoverable alerts on boot-up, now.
Is there a way to get rid of the Deneb start up intro? Remove it from the Flashrom using Luciferin?
What else can the flashrom be used for?

I wish I'd spotted that earlier and saved you some headaches. :-)
As per my post above, I haven't started messing with the Flash ROM side yet, but I did remove all the modules to get rid of the intro screen and the prompt for Eric's video.

The poseidon stack itself (to boot from usb devices), amiga os rom updates, and other programs which are romtag-able, like for example XSurfIDE. Look in the modules drawer of Luciferin for some examples.

If I put the OS3.9 ROM in the Deneb, will I need to change my startup sequence to prevent OS3.9 trying to load the ROM again when it starts, or will it work out that the ROM is already loaded and skip it?

Well I skipped them in startup-sequence to be sure, but if you don't skip them I think it's the same as when you start setpatch for the second time. Setpatch will say that the amiga rom updates are already loaded.

I thought that SetPatch would not attempt to reboot when it does not install updates due to all of them being there, but in the case this doesn't work, SetPatch NOROMUPDATE will do the trick.

OK, cheers. :-)
