Title: GVP A3000 G-Force 040 Kickstart ROM option?
Post by: Maximus on September 07, 2008, 01:39:46 PM
I just landed a GVP A3000 G-Force 040/28 accelerator card for my desktop 3000 and from the manual with it, it indicates hardware support for onboard Kickstart ROMs in the 2 far end rom sockets. The manual though doesn't provide the slightest hint of how to activate that support via jumpers or whatever means it takes to do so.

Does anyone have any information on how to utilize this feature with this accelerator card? Or is it a blunder on GVPs part with a good intention in mind, but no follow through to actually make it useful?

If it can be used, is it then possible to toggle between the accelerator's ROMs and ROMs installed in the motherboard sockets? Would love to be able to switch between 2.04 and 3.1 roms if possible.

Any good advice regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Max

I'm thinking those might be for the chips that are needed to run unix on the 3000.
