Title: Amiga 4000 ATX PSU
Post by: Roger_S on September 05, 2008, 08:19:26 PM
I am redoing an old PSU from an a4000. It will get a new ATX PSU. But instead of by a mechanical convertor from amikit I decided to desolder the ATX connector and resolder the original one back.

I need to be sure of this:

 Amiga Pin   desc.   amiga color
  1         pwr ok     braun
  2         -12         red
  3         +12         oranje
  4         gnd         blue
  5         gnd         blue
  6         +5          yellow

This scheme is from Ian Stedmans site, but the colors are not mentioned. just to be sure and on the safe side.

I can measure it from the old PSU, for obvious reasons :-)

Ian's site is absolutely right. You can thrust him.

And he is a top bloke, from my experience.

Anyway, look for the A4000 PSU connector at http://www.allpinouts.org .

Hi rkauer,

I know that the info on his site is correct. But he is not mentioning the colors of the wires from the a4000. That is why I want confirmation if my is scheme in the 1st post is correct.

 No problem, m8.

The reason for there isn't a colour description is simple: C= use to change it a lot(!). Only black wires are usually ground...

Ok, I thought it was uniform.

I just now notice that the connector is numbered, it is very tiny.... but usefull.

Thanks!
