Title: Tips on removing A4000 battery
Post by: hamtronix on September 04, 2008, 02:45:37 AM
Just got one and the battery is showing corrosion. Is it possible to remove the battery without removing the posts and just popping a new one in or is it a pointless endeavor?

Desolder the old one from the back of the MB. Yes, that means a full disassembly and a chance to loose all those screws.  :-D  Clipping or ripping will lead to more work. Do it right the first time. Try not to replace it with them barrel batteries that they originally have. oh yeah, careful with the soldering iron, it's a two beer project.

it might be a good idea to cut off the battery legs. that way soldering would be easier, and you could do it without removing case (by soldering two wires).
