A new incarnation of Alien Breed is under its way.
Read more about it here (http://news.spong.com/article/16093/Exclusive_All_New_Alien_Breed_Confirmed?cb=875)
This requires unlimited amount of dancing bananas :-D

what plattforms?
-
That is really interesting. A new Alien breed should of course also run on a new super Amiga. :-)
-
They should let community port it to MorphOS ;)
-
@keropi
what plattforms?
Amiga, Atari ST and Sega Megadrive, they are still considering a SNES verson but have ruled out Neo Geo.
-
@Rob
none of that is in that article. where'd you get that info?
-
@Weirdami
My uneducated guess: the part of his brain which creates sarcasm, helped by wild imagination :lol:

Hmmm XBox360/Wii/PS3 and Amiga?
This cant be true, can it?? Must be some sort of wind up.
As a side note, does anyone remember when Team 17 tried to bring out Alien Breed 2004? That game looked sweet....to bad it got canned.
-
By the looks of it, it'll be an X-Box Live Arcade exclusive.
-
Until the official statement comes from Team17, nobody can categorically state it's for one console or another ... unless of course, you have insider knowledge that we are not privy to???

The announcement says it is being developed for a "next gen platform", not an existing console, or any existing computer platform.
So, maybe it is being developed for............ NATAMI!!! :lol:
I actually hope it is being developed for AmigaOS 4.x and/or MorphOS 2.x/3.x (I know they are existing platforms, but they are still considered "Next Gen" in the Amiga world) as well as some other platforms that Team17 can make some real money from. :-D

Good news =).
Shadowgrounds (http://shadowgroundsgame.com/new/) (and Shadowgrounds: Survivor) might be called a modern spiritual sequel to the Alien Breed games. It's a bit short though.

That game looks brilliant! Shame there's no Mac version :-(

@moto
get a pc and play it - it's pretty darn good! :-D

Mac? Bootcamp it!

I thought about it, but I don't really want a whole OS for just one game. Also, I'm not sure how well the game would run on the MacBook's crappy graphics card. I wish they would open source it so it could be ported to MOS as my EFIKA has a better graphics card than my Mac :crazy: But then the CPU would probably let it down.

You wouldn't even joke about it if you'd ever tried ;-)

Yay! :devildance:
Hope that's not a hoax... :roll:

I seem to remember that Team17 tried doing an Alien Breed for the PS2 a few years ago, but couldn't get a publisher to back it through development. (Alien? Breed? No, no, make more dire worms sequels)
I have a hazy memory of a screenshot that showed a kind of isometric perspective, with a dark, gritty ship/space-station and a massive alien blocking a doorway while the player was blasting it. It looked like it would play like the original rather than being YAFPS.
Here's hoping that the new one is based on this version.
