Hello everyone,
Will an amiga motherboard fit in an amiga 500 case?
-
Sure, but the ports on the back are in different positions, and you'd either need a 1200 keyboard or do a little work to get the 500's keyboard wired to the motherboard.
-
So the ports in the back will only be in different positions but still fit right? As for the keyboard, is the hack hard to do? Is it worth a try or would I have a better shot putting it in an PC ATX case?
-
You'd probably have to cut some plastic to get all the ports usable and you'd need to do a little soldering (4 connections or so) on the motherboard to get the A500 keyboard working.
It's definitely an easier option than putting it into an ATX case.

Would you know what kind of soldering I need to do? On the Amiga 1200 mobo I see that there is a port for a flat ribbon cable for the keyboard. I have an Amiga 500 with KS 1.2, Mouse, PSU, and the RF adapter. If anyone who has been successful with such task, can show me some pictures I would appreciate it.

If you don't mind the colours not quite matching then use the A1200 keyboard as mounts the same way as the A500 item.

Thank you!! See I only have the Amiga 1200 motherboard and then a full Amiga 500 so I have to somehow combine that. This is a start, however the keyboard soldering is a bit scary..
