Title: Amiga 1200 pcmcia wifi setup
Post by: Roger_S on August 25, 2008, 07:01:06 PM
As the tile says. I'm trying to connect my a1200 to a wifi router.

Setup:
A1200
AOS 3.9
16bit PCMCIA wifi card
prism2 driver

I'm pretty sure the card is recognized and working as unit 0
as the genesis tools configures fine.
when I use the follwing commands from shell (written in the manual that came along with the card)

setprism2defaults ssid amiga
setprism2defaults key 1234567890

Should be ok, right?

Then I start the genesis tool to enable to wificard, but the output tells me this:

bootpc_send: sendto
bootp failed

I have no idea what to look for.

AFAI remember in my setup I used the following line after the AmiTCP Assign in User-Startup:

C:SetPrism2Defaults SSID KEY

Then everything worked like a charm :)

Edit: The Genesis config was made easily by the Wizard plus some alterations to the prefs.
I found it pretty easy compared to manual AmiTCP installation with WiFi over my A600. Both work just fine though

That is basically what I did. Still no response. I also removed the WEP key from the router to see if it would connect.
