Title: Startup Sequence Question
Post by: dannyp1 on August 21, 2008, 02:38:11 PM
I have a question regarding putting something in your start-up sequence.  A program like TagLiFE says to put it in the C directory and to start it from the startup sequence.  Would you put just:

TagLiFE

in the sequence.  Or would you put:

C:TagLiFE

Thanks in advance for the help.  Also, how would you be able to tell it was running?

As long as the program has been copied to C: then it does not matter.
C: is assigned before startup-sequence is run.
If you need proof then just boot with no startup-sequence and type C: in the shell and hit enter.

Not sure if the C: was necessary before os 3.1 or not. Probably was for v1.3.

For readability purposes, I always include the location for programs which are loaded during the startup-sequence.

IMHO, it makes it easier to remember where the program's are located should you ever need to edit the file.

Just put it down to personal preference how you decide to  write it.  :-)
