Title: Amiga Forever, WinUAE or WHDLoad - best one?
Post by: Astral on August 16, 2008, 09:07:17 AM
I enjoy watching scene productions on the Amiga. Given the hardware banging nature of them, it's hard to come to the best possible compromise of real Amiga hardware to allow compatibility with the most amount of scene productions. Hence, I'm seriously considering going to an emulator due to the easy reconfiguration of the specifications, allowing the highest compatibility with the most scene productions - sound reasonable?

So, which emulator is the best for this purpose? Amiga Forever, WinUAE or something else? I am leaning toward Amiga Forever. Or maybe WHDLoad would be an option as well?

Amiga Forever uses WinUAE, and WHDLoad can be used within UAE. So really, there is no decision to make. If you want to have the legal ROMs and Workbench, or want the extras, get Amiga Forever. If you already have them, use WinUAE. If you want to mess about with ADFs then do that, if not use WHDLoad.
