During the installation of the MegAChip I killed my Amiga 500.
I desoldered the topmost pad for the J2 jumper, and now I have a constant yellow screen. And reboot cycle.
Looking for a new A500, preferable rev 7, so no soldering is needed. Going to ebay now :(

I might have one or two spare A500 mobo's. I'll check the revision when I get home from work.

ahh, don't worry, I think your board can be saved. You can trace the jumper pads and join them at another place on the motherboard. Every amiga is worth saving !

@countzero
I can send it to you for saving? I will not try anymore soldering on this one:-S
@skurk
That would be great. Just send me an email at username@gmail.com, replace username with my name. I will pay you for one if you have one.
-
sure, but probably shipping will cost more than another A500 board :)

@countzero
you wouldn´t have to ship it back. But wait, japan is pal or ntsc?
It should perhaps be repaired in PAL-land, so that another pal user might have it afterwards.
I´m waiting to see what skurk comes up with. There were very few A500 for sale at .co.uk and .de.
@skurk
Perhaps, regardless of which rev board you have, I could send you my ROM switcher and MegAChip for fitting?
I´d reimburse you for your time.
