Title: Getting Blizzard Vision to work under 3.9?
Post by: Astral on August 09, 2008, 08:11:04 AM
I've installed OS3.9. I've downloaded and installed the official Powerup Blizzard Vision drivers. I've downloaded, and applied Piru's exec44 patches. When I attempt to edit the screenmode prefs, no output is seen when testing a Blizzard Vision screenmode.

Exactly how do I get this thing working?
Is GFX4 the ONLY answer, or should it be possible with the current software I'm trying with?

I don't know what version of CGX you're running but get CGX4. It's commercial but worth the money to get the BVision runnin' :).

If your blizzardppc has ever been used with a grex, it would have the grex firmware in it. I don't know if that stops the bvision from working. I guess you could reflash the blizzardppc and try again.

You don't need to reflash the BlizzardPPC. The BVision works fine with the latest firmware that supports a GRex.

You do need to have the proper 68040 and 68060 library combined with Cybergraphx or else you will get problems. Also, you need the latest Cybergraphx 4 drivers to make use of the latest firmware.

Remove them. CGX does a stupid check for exec.library V40. It does neither work with V44 nor with V45 (3.9BB2).

Only CGX4 with the latest updates has this bug fixed.
