Title: Blizzard 1230Mk4 issue
Post by: Dorgath on August 06, 2008, 11:32:52 AM
Hi,

I'm having a problem with this accelerator, about 2/3 of my boots it doesn't seem to be recognized and the 1200 just boots as if it wasn't there.

The other 1/3 it boots with the blizz (seeing the blue stripes at start) and it works fine.

All other hardware is recognized and works fine in both cases.

I've tried disassembling and reassembling the system but that didn't help.

Currently I have a ZIV board attached, a mediator, a buddha flash and a deneb.
I tried disconnecting them one by one but the problem stayed the same.

Any ideas?

How are you powering all them busboards and the mobo.

is it just throught the mediator or Z4 if so add power to the mobo throuhg thee floppy cconnector, this sounds like a power issue to me

The Blizzard MkIV is designed to go straight onto the A1200 expansion slot, with nothing in between. I'm not saying that the ZorroIV board is the fault, but try just the A1200 mobo with the Blizzard if it's not too much trouble.

Both mediator and ZIV are powered, connecting the floppy connector on the mobo doesn't help much.

Strange thing is that I can't power the ZIV board through the AT connector but using the floppy connector on the board seems to work.

When I connect the blizz to the mobo it works with or without the ZIV passthrough.
