I was looking for an old post of mine (on the subject of Opera and Amiga.org) and I couldn't find it in this subforum (Suggestions & Feedback). Yet when I search (I'd hardly call it search as that doesn't work - I have to press "next" a whole bunch of times and use the browser's find command to find the text I want) through my personal postings pages, then I do find my old post and it's on the board.
Is there some sort of time filtering enabled?
There seems to be a drop down that's set to show postings from the last 100 days. Perhaps that's it?
However, when I tried "from beginning of the year" or something close to that, the "Go" button never refreshed the subforum page. Broken?

This software has not changed nor been updated in almost 5 years, trying to allow for the now antiquated Amiga to read the site in general (all 7 or so people who still use Amigas to read the site).
Maybe it's time to give up the past and dump what we have in favor of a site which doesn't sacrifice usability for the few who don't want to move forward?
(Sorry, been a grumpy day).

I think A.org has been like this so long now, that if it changed I'd get all confused :-D

You should be able to see all your posts by clicking on your name, then "show all" under your forum posts. May take you a few minutes to find one out of many, but they're all there.

No worries. I will persevere because after all it's about those computers an that OS.
It is however a different issue when most of the discussed functionality is all back end (ex: search). That can be changed and it will work for all browsers that access said functionality. However that requires time and effort to spare.
Anyhow, it's no big deal. We can survive. BTW, that's how I searched: profile -> show all posts and Ctrl/Cmd-F.

Forgiven :-)

Good point! :-D

I don't generally go around looking gift horses in the mouth which is why I hesitate to say that I find this forum more difficult to navigate than any other I use. I click on "Latest Posts" and see a list of threads regardless of whether there are new posts or not and there's no way to jump the latest post(s).
Or there is and I'm too dumb to figure out how. :(

Please keep in mind that the site is essentially just as it was in 2003 to accommodate the few remaining diehards. That is to say that a lot of the feature set that you may be used to on newer sites may not be available on this one, because most of the tools required to make it all pretty were never written for the Amiga.

You could have a special Lynx compatible version for the diehards and a regular version for the everyone else. :-)

Maybe I've just been around too long, but I don't mind A.org the way it is. I don't find it any more difficult to navigate than newer sites. It's just different with it's own learning curve.
Still I don't think any one would fault you for updating to a newer gizmo if you really wanted to. Maybe there one that will allow classic visitors to disable things like java and css?

Hi
Please don't change this website!!
I use both amiga/ppc and pc on this site.
And there is few site left who a "plain" amiga can still read.
A.org is my number one amiga site. please keep it like that!! :)
Thanks all who use time and effort on this site!!

My vote would also be for A.Org to remain unchanged :pint:
Prehaps an up-to-date photo of the kitty though :-D

I like Amiga.org the way it is!
Thanks Wayne, for a great site :-)
I often (most of the time?) use my Amiga on the net.

I was thinking of adding one but the one I was thinking of is about 300 by 1,000,000,000 pixels. Best not crash the server ey?
Still this will do I suppose...

ROFL... You guys are great... Thanks for the laugh.
Kitty has promised to use the offerings to purchase the new lung for the ones I keep trying to cough up (had a bad cold last week).
There's a South Park marathon in there somewhere I'm sure.
